The Blonde One Was Called Freedom

The Road Is Always Clear; That’s Not What You Want to Hear

I’ve been craving a road trip lately. I’m daydreaming of Colorado in August, though I’ve never even been there!

Needless to say I’ve really slacked off on the blog as of late.

Summer has turned rainy here in the Midwest and I’ve ordered tons of books for my Michigan vacation.

Upon my summer reading list?

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo – Stieg Larsson

Everything is Wrong with Me – Jason Mulgrew

A Long Way Gone – Ishmael Beah

Predictably Irrational – Dan Ariely

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies – Jane Austen/Seth Grahame-Smith

I’m pretty excited for this. I’ve also decided that I’m going to set some parameters for my summer before it gets too out of control.

Firstly, I’m removing the weekly consumption of alcohol. I’ve decided that at the ripe old age of 23 I’ve got to start spending some weekend hours doing something resourceful. And, it leads into…

Number two, the saving of money. I will Not spend 5 dollars at Starbucks twice a week. I shall save my money for more important things, like….

Number three, to donate to causes I find myself otherwise incapable of supporting. I’ve obviously already appealed to your better nature by asking for Donations to American Cancer Society in my last post. But this oil spill business is really starting to hurt my heart. I feel pretty powerless about what I can do. I don’t have much money, and I’m too far away to help clean up the animals, etc.

I’m resigned to donating what little I can.

Fourthly, I plan on selling a bunch of stuff that I don’t need on ebay. We tried to sell it for much cheaper this past weekend at our neighborhood garage sale, but since it monsooned we had few buyers.

And last, I am planning a grand adventure of some sort. Like I said, maybe the Centennial State.

It's hard to believe something like that is Real.
