The Blonde One Was Called Freedom

Tryin Out a New Thing Here, Part 1: No Confusion for Me

Hmm, testing out a new thing. How about my everyday blogs are accompanied by good lyrics that suit my mood? Day one?

Descending – The Black Crowes
album: The Lost Crowes (Don’t go replacing this with the Amorica version. It’s different. And the background singers and added piano make this.)

Have mercy, baby
I’m descending again
Open your eyes, baby
Cause this time it’s sink or it’s swim
No sermons on ascending
No verdict on deceit
No selfish memorandum
No confusion for me, not for me

(A curse a clue the same to me)
Curses
(Regardless of your sympathy)
Curses and Clues
(Reminded me to find beauty!)
Just a feast of fools
(A curse a clue the same to me)
Curses
(Regardless of your sympathy)
Curses and Clues
(Reminded me to find beauty!)
Feast of Fools

Have mercy, baby
And hand me downs
It was just a few years ago
You’d hand me ups and map
Right out of town
But I would let it slide
Like mercury
So Silver and quick, baby
Poisonous and deadly
So deadly

(A curse a clue the same to me)
Curses
(Regardless of your sympathy)
Curses and Clues
(Reminded me to find beauty!)
Just a feast of fools
(A curse a clue the same to me)
Curses
(Regardless of your sympathy)
Curses and Clues
(Reminded me to find beauty!)
Feast of Fools
(A curse a clue the same to me)
Curses
(Regardless of your sympathy)
Curses and Clues
(Reminded me to find beauty!)
A feast of fools
(A curse a clue the same to me)
Curses
(Regardless of your sympathy)
Curses and Clues
(Reminded me to find beauty!)
Feast of fools

**I’d like to add that I wrote these myself, because no one on the internet seems to know the difference between the 2 versions… amateurs 🙂

So this is a trying January. I know I’ve said that February Gets a Bad Rap, but it’ll have to be pretty messed up if it’s going to top this January. I’m struggling to see the positive side of life, and I feel like hugging my steering wheel for dear life when I hear this song. I put it on a mix CD* (yes, CDs are still big for me. They’re much more permanent than my ever-changing playlists.). Something about it is very therapeutic for me. I think it might be those lovely ladies in the background. And let’s not forget about that piano outro. Peaceful.

* I literally have a series of mix CDs that I consider interlinked. They are a series of 80. After that I stopped numbering them. It got a bit excessive (oops!).

Anyway, The Black Crowes are amazing, and I’ve found that this CD is really good at making me let go of the frustrations in life. Even road rage. So happy day and prayers and such. I shall break on through these January blues and so will you if you have them! Using this song ↑

And this quote ↓

I always tell the girls: never take it seriously; if you never take it seriously, you never get hurt. You never get hurt, you always have fun; and if you ever get lonely, just go to the record store and visit your friends.

I had to sneak my lady in there SOMEwhere 🙂

  2. Hello, I just stopped in to visit your site and thought I’d say I enjoyed myself.
